Why mermaids are needed

The coral reef is fading away. It has lost its colours, the sea creatures are disappearing, and part of the sea's magic is gone.

It needs help β€” but the reef lies beneath the water, and there is only one way to reach it. For a little while, each child must become a mermaid.

In a special mermaid outfit, children step into the shallow sea, practise moving with a tail, and complete a few simple mission tasks designed to help restore the colours of the reef and return the sea to its magical beauty.

The mission is not meant to be completed alone. Only together with other mermaids can the reef be brought back to life.

Meeting point is New Marina Hurghada. The mission itself takes place on a permitted sandbank with shallow water and calm conditions.

Session flow

Total time is 3 hours including arrival, boat transfer, mermaid tail fitting, beach instructions, photos, and return to the marina.

What age is Magical Mermaid Mission suitable for?

From 4 to 12 years old, with a maximum height of 160 cm. No swimming experience or prior mermaid tail experience is required. The mission takes place on the beach and in shallow water under the supervision of two adults.

Is the experience safe for children?

Yes. Children are under adult supervision at all times, and safety procedures are trained and rehearsed in advance.

What is included in the booking?

Meeting at New Marina Hurghada. Please be punctual and arrive 10–15 minutes before the agreed time, as the schedule is tight and back-to-back bookings follow. Total time: 3 hours.

Transport from Marina Hurghada to the sandbank by speedboat in a safe, professional way. Children can change in privacy in the boat’s toilet or be assisted by female staff if needed. On arrival at the sandbank, children are instructed on the beach and can test the mermaid tail in shallow water under adult supervision, one child at a time. We bring two large inflatables for decoration. A professional photographer conducts the photoshoot.

Each child receives a diploma certifying participation in the Magical Mermaid Mission. Photos are delivered via a shared Google Drive link. The experience includes the return to the marina within the 3‑hour window.

Where does the mission take place?

The mission takes place on a permitted sandbank. The operator holds official permits for the boat and trip, the captain is regularly trained and evaluated, and the entire experience follows licensed regulations and safe behavior on the Red Sea.
